Color us moderately impressed. At its $30 price point. CodedColor’s photo-organization, editing, and sharing capabilities are hard to beat. The image editor includes basics such as photo cropping, red-eye removal, and adjustments for color, sharpness, and brightness. It also provides a number of wilder effects and filters. You can organize your photos in catalogs or access them one at a time through the file tree. The program includes a basic slide-show mode. If you want to share your photos, you can create a customized online album. There are plenty of unexpected goodies too, such as batch-conversion, multimedia support, EXIF editing, and automatic antialiasing on zoom. However, stability is a bit dodgy; we experienced some program hangs. Also, the interface, while colorful and neatly organized, is sometimes unintuitive. We wish the creators had bundled a step-by-step tutorial for beginners. Overall, CodedColor PhotoStudio is a capable option for intermediate to advanced digital photographers. Just give it a good tryout before buying.
