Pros

Quick detection and removal: The scan only took a few minutes and found two threats. The threats were deleted, and then a second scan was conducted to ensure the system was secure. This all took less than five minutes.

Advanced interface: The interface looks great, flows well, and is intuitive. The right-hand side of the screen allows you to access the various portions of the program, such as PC Security or Identity Protection, while all the relevant data is displayed clearly in the middle.

Identity protection: In addition to removing malicious software from your system, the program provides you with the means to protect your identity. The identity and phishing shields help ensure that your information is never leaked while you are browsing online.

Cons

Cumbersome installation: The trial installation is very cumbersome. You have to enter an email address to access the trial, but then instead of being emailed your activation code, it shows up on the website, and you have to copy and paste it into the installer.

Bottom Line

Once you get past Webroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus’s installer, the software itself is very good. Combined with the great added features, it becomes a nice, all-in-one protection suite.

Webroot SecureAnywhere Internet Security Plus is a blazing-fast malware scanner that offers protection from phishing attacks, software hijacks, and more.

Pros

Informative design: Webroot uses color shades to indicate the protection status of products. Green stands for fully protected, orange represents a warning state, and red indicates a critical vulnerability. For example, disabling the real-time shield pulls up a caption notification and immediately puts the Webroot SecureAnywhere state into the red.

Lightweight: Webroot’s complete installation takes up only 1MB. AntiVirus doesn’t take a very noticeable toll on your system, even for full scans. A complete scan took less than 30 seconds, which blows most scan times out of the water. However, compared to similar applications, SecureAnywhere puts less emphasis on definition-based scans and more weight on cloud-based scanning.

Web console: Webroot’s SecureAnywhere Web console makes it easy to manage and review all your saved passwords. You can also check each registered device if you decide to install Webroot on your phones or additional computers.

Cons

Delayed response: To enable password management, Webroot makes you wait at least 15 minutes for activation. The password manager extension sometimes misses accounts on sites, forcing manual input.

Password error: We encountered a bug during the two-step verification prompt. If you enter a password that doesn’t meet the original requirements, then Webroot will ask you to enter a new password. However, the rejected password — by default — later became the reference for our two-factor authentication password. The bug seemed to persist inside the Web console.

Bottom Line

Webroot SecureAnywhere Internet Security Plus is an impressive product, overall. It has a solid performance ranking that barely takes a toll on your system and a user interface that makes your protection clear. Internet Security Plus includes a password manager that makes managing your security keys easier (at least in theory), but our experience with using the tool was a bit mixed. Despite the minor password bug, we found Webroot SecureAnywhere Internet Security Plus to be an overall decent package if you’re looking for an antivirus/password manager package.
