Its visually appealing interface and Web search integration differentiates it from other similar apps, making it a good choice for any genealogy enthusiast. The standard GEDCOM format is supported for both import and export of data.

MacFamilyTree’s sleek, streamlined interface will help you get started in no time, and if you ever need assistance, the comprehensive Help file will provide it. You begin by creating a new family tree and adding relatives and their photos and relevant information to it. To identify the roots of your family, you can use one of the online genealogical databases integrated into the app. You can also view sources, images, to-do lists, and locations. Additional neat features include a Research Assistant and a Family Quiz that helps you hone your family knowledge. You can also sync with iCloud, which allows you to access your family tree on any iOS device with a companion app installed. If you don’t want to use iCloud for any reason, you can also sync your data to Dropbox.

In terms of interface, features, and performance, MacFamilyTree lives up to its promises. If you’re looking for a comprehensive genealogy app that integrates manually-entered information with Web data, it’s certainly the right choice for you. You can’t save any data with the trial version, but you will get a good sense of the app’s capabilities to see if the upgrade is worth the price to you.

Interior design is a visual task that does not come easily to many people. Luckily, MyFourWalls for Mac allows you to place custom modified furniture into rooms that you design in both 2D and 3D formats.

MyFourWalls for Mac easily allows the user to design rooms and place furniture into them. This program is capable of loading preexisting blueprints to be used for interior designing, or the user can design their own rooms. There are a variety of different view settings, modifiable furniture pieces, and design elements. The 2D models can be a little crowded, but all of the elements are movable by dragging. The user interface is large and easy to understand and use. The modifiable design elements seem almost endless and include furniture for all types of rooms, different materials and easy resizing of all elements. The interface is capable of displaying the design in 2D, 3D, or 2D and 3D together. The limitations of this version prevent the user from being able to complete a full and complex design, but you can still play around with all of the features. The free trial version is limited to sessions of 30 minutes at a time and you cannot print or save. The full version of the program is available for $29.

MyFourWalls for Mac is a great tool for visualizing interior design possibilities. This version of the program seems to be geared for personal use and definitely only as a demonstration of the full program’s potential.

If you’re looking for a Mac uninstaller with a little extra under the hood, CleanApp offers all the features you need to get rid of unwanted apps once and for all.

With CleanApp, you drag and drop apps to the interface, and then you can view them and their associated files before you decide what to do. But unlike other uninstall utilities for Mac, CleanApp offers a few extras across the top of the interface, so you can zero in on what you want to uninstall. The Applications button displays all installed apps; a System Accessories button lets you sift through files like plug-ins and screensavers; and under the More Features button you can quickly find and remove unused files, language packages, and old cache files.

One of our favorite features of CleanApp is its “Install Logging” option. It’s a background task that records when you install new software, so you (and CleanApp) can be absolutely sure all associated files get the boot when you decide to uninstall them.

Overall, CleanApp has a nice feature set and does a thorough job of eradicating unwanted apps from your hard drive. With its drag-and-drop interface and added extras for getting rid of other junk files, it’s easy to recommend CleanApp to any Mac user.
