Together for Mac creates a library of your favorite Finder files, lets you organize them, and provides easy access through an always-present sidebar. Noteworthy features include drag-and-drop functionality for adding files to the library and outputting them via the shelf sidebar, extensive cataloging options, and reliable file encryption.

When started for the first time, Together prompts you to create a new library or import an existing one. The app’s interface is clean and usable, combining a category, item, and preview column with a toolbar. One nice touch: You can open supported documents in new tabs. Add files though the menu, or drop them into the main window. Together supports many file types — we were able to add text documents, media and Web archives, and even whole folders. Organize files via custom folders, groups, labels, keywords, and Mavericks tags.

Together provides more features than OS X’s tagging system. The app’s interface is a joy to use, and additional features like file encryption bring even more value to the product. If you like cataloging your files and feel that OS X’s tagging is insufficient for your needs, this app is for you — provided you’re willing to pay for it once the trial version expires.

Feeder for Mac is a powerful tool for creating, customizing, and publishing RSS feeds that are in turn compatible with the iTunes store and other popular formats. While it certainly requires some degree of familiarity with the technology and formats, the tools here are laid out in an intuitive and accessible way that make the tool useful for anyone that manages or publishes multiple RSS feeds.

After installation, you can immediately start using Feeder with all of its features in a trial mode. This allows you to create new Standard Feeds, iTunes podcast feeds, Sparkle app casting feeds, and more from a single interface. With multiple templates available for different formats, in most cases it’s as easy as drag and drop and filling in the blanks that the app provides you. You can create new feeds at any time, publish them from the app, directly, or share them with friends. For anyone that has a self-hosted podcast, video series, or internal blog, this is a very useful tool and the intuitive layout makes it easy to master.

If you are creating content on a regular basis and need an app that will help you create custom feeds for that content, consider Feeder. The free version allows you to test all of the built-in features, though you will need to upgrade for $39 to keep them at a certain point. Either way, it offers a range of options that are well suited to anyone who produces content they want to share.
