Instagrille for Pokki is a hybrid Instagram-focused tool that is useful but also frustrating in terms of its requirements. Because it forces installation of Pokki, creates irremovable quick launch icons, and creates a native app-interface on your PC that you may not want, it has its trade-offs, though the interface is decidedly stripped down, offering a useful way to browse Instagram on your desktop.

Installation will take some time as you need to also install Pokki and new menu items are created as the app-interface is generated on your desktop. To open Instagrille, you must open Pokki first and find the app. It will then open with random Instagram images sorted by popularity or location. You can also log in to your account and view images in your feed. With only a handful of buttons, a small screen and a tiled interface, it is very much an app in the style of Windows Phone 8 or iOS 6, but it works quite well on your desktop. Responsive and fast, it is a great browsing tool for Instagram, allowing you to like, share, comment on, and upload images quickly, as you would on your phone.

If you don’t mind installing Pokki and its proprietary app interface on your PC, or if you already have it installed, Instagrille is one of the better ways to surf through Instagram images on your desktop. If you prefer not to add new interface layers to your machine, this app may be too intrusive. Uninstallation is just as frustrating as the initial install.

Pokki creates a window on your desktop that lets you pin, organize, and browse apps like you would on a smartphone. Through Pokki’s intuitive and attractive interface, you can have quick access to all of your apps without having to clutter up your desktop. You can also sort your apps into categories and organize them by page so that they’re easier to find than ever.

Once you’ve installed Pokki, you can access it through the quick-launch icon that will appear next to your Start menu. Clicking that icon will bring up a window with multiple pages where you can pin any apps you’d like. There is also a search bar for searching your own apps, as well as a feature that lets you search the App Store. And across the bottom of the window, you’ll find quick links to some of the most popular apps in the store at the moment. The display window, itself, is customizable in terms of size and color theme. There are also quite a few languages supported, including Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, English, and several others.

When configuring your settings, you can select where notifications show up, whether you want the popular apps displayed at the bottom of the window, and whether or not you want Web results displayed when you use the search function. Overall, this app performs well and has a nice set of features. It’s also free, which means it’s definitely worth giving it a try if you’re looking for a new way to organize your apps.
