PCDJ DEX 2 for Mac allows the user to mix music and video and even make karaoke files. The program automatically loads existing music and video files into the interface. You can add additional sound elements using external microphones, CD players and turntables. The media files are easily accessible and can be transferred to the mixing decks by dragging and dropping. The interface even allows for live scratching on audio files. The user can choose between two or four decks on the interface, as well as a selection of preset window sizes. Due to the many configurations and functions that this program has, you can create multipart remixes with ease. Saved files are playable through iTunes. The free trial is limited to sessions of 20 minutes, but all functions are available. The full version of the program retails for $229 and is capable of running on both Mac and Windows platforms.

PCDJ Red Mobile 2 for Mac is a DJ mixing application for Mac OS. PCDJ Red Mobile 2 for Mac is not available from the App Store but is available from several download sites, as well as the publisher’s Web site. The trial version is free, and a full licensed version is $129.

PCDJ Red has been our go-to DJ mixing app for many years, and PCDJ Red Mobile 2 for Mac is the latest iteration of this popular and powerful application. The interface of PCDJ Red Mobile 2 for Mac has two music decks in the upper pane, with waveform displays in the middle and a list of folders and songs in the bottom pane. Each deck has soft controls for all mixing purposes, and plug-in hardware mixer controls are supported. PCDJ Red Mobile 2 for Mac can search your entire file system and plug-in drives for music in most formats, and even supports karaoke in this latest edition (with lyrics on a separate output). There are a few auto-play buttons that make it easy to sound really good, or you can take total control and do everything manually.

PCDJ Red Mobile 2 for Mac is the mixing deck against which we measure all other DJ mixing apps, and this latest version continues the tradition of being the standard. It is easy to learn and use, and powerful enough for professionals and amateurs alike.
