Delete Duplicate Files offers to help users clear valuable space on their computer by erasing duplicates. However, its trial limits kept us from fully operating this program.

The program’s interface was simple enough that following the onscreen instructions and navigating the layout was enough to get us started without visiting the topic-by-topic Help file. We found the entire process to be broken down into such simple components that it probably wouldn’t take more than a few seconds to delete files. The program scanned files for content or by file name quickly, taking less than a minute, and the duplicate files were listed in a readable layout. The program also provides a wizard feature that walked us through a quick process to scan a single folder. We have to speculate, unfortunately, because the trial wouldn’t let us delete anything. The program offers options to delete, shred or simply move a file, but we cannot say whether or not it works.

Delete Duplicate Files does not allow for deletion during its trial. The program comes as a compressed ZIP file and leaves folders upon uninstall. We cannot recommend this program since we do not know whether it successfully deletes files.
