Shazam can detect any music within range of your Mac’s speakers and link you to information about that song. Can’t quite place music from a commercial or a song playing in the background? Shazam will track it and provide all the information you need to identify and buy it.
Pros
Runs in the background: To keep track of music around you, all you need to do is turn Shazam on and let it run. It will work in the background as long as it’s on and send notifications when it detects a new song. You can click the notification for more details, or just go back later to view a list of the latest detections.
Accurate detection: This program works quickly and is accurate in its song identifications. During testing, Shazam took only 10 to 30 seconds to identify songs, and the IDs were always accurate.
Cons
No help: If you have trouble with this app, emailing support is your only option. There is no manual or other resource to consult.
