Many try to improve on the standard Windows calculator, and Moffsoft FreeCalc does a fairly good job of it. Besides the traditional functions, this calculator offers extras such as SQRT through a bigger, easier interface. Our favorite feature is the “transaction tape,” essentially an ongoing record of all calculations performed. You’ll never again be at square one after accidentally pressing C–just look at the tape and start from your last calculation. Number crunchers will be sure to appreciate FreeCalc’s enhancements to their primary tools.
