While JD Standard Calculator doesn’t offer the exact same feature set as does its Windows counterpart (scientific functions are absent), it does include handy features such as a loan calculator and a savings forecaster. The interface is boxy and clunky, and cluttered with advertising banners–an unfortunate freeware side effect. The program’s best function is its tape option. Unlike Windows Calculator, JD Standard can print out calculations over a period of time. You can’t “pin” the calculator on top of another window, however, which is a big drawback when working with spreadsheets. Overall, this is a handy tool that offers a good feature set for a price you can’t refuse.
