Easy to use but anemic in features, File Recover falls short of the better offerings in this genre. As far as we could gather, it can’t restore files on corrupted or formatted partitions, nor on systems that can’t boot. On top of that, the trial version can’t save (or even view) recovered files.

File Recover has a pleasant, straightforward interface, and it did restore a deleted file in our tests, but for $29.95, you can buy much more capable recovery software.
