This program contains a number of tools for working with AVI files. The AVI Constructor Pack bundle contains AVI Constructor, AVI Compress, AVI Merger, AVI Extractor, and AVI Speed Adjustor. One big downside is that there’s no main control panel that combines all the programs, so you have to launch each program independently. The pack is easy to use, however, and is highly configurable and performs actions quickly. For instance, the extraction of images from a three-minute video took only 20 seconds. Features include tools that allow you to merge and compress AVI files, adjust the speed of a clip, and compile a movie from individual images. When testing the latter feature, we couldn’t figure out how to save the AVI to our hard drive, and clicking the Help menu item didn’t do any good. In spite of a few shortcomings in this program, video buffs are sure to like this application’s versatility.
