AutoMate is more than an application–it’s practically a platform. Its raft of features relieves the burden of monotonous tasks. The clean interface easily manages numerous tasks and carefully guides you through adding new ones. If a problem occurs, you can refer to the extensive documentation. AutoMate can run any combination of actions triggered by conditions, such as time, keystrokes, and system-configuration changes, even if the PC is logged off. Actions include running a program, opening a Web page, sending keystrokes to an application, clicking a button, downloading a file, and running a database query. Triggers include the start, end, or nonresponse of Windows processes or services, as well as start-up events, such as a specified user logging on. Administrators can control an AutoMate client from any machine on a TCP/IP network and send tasks to several computers at once. Automation Markup Language and BASIC engines let advanced users script complex tasks with data-formatting and retrieval capabilities. AutoMate isn’t for everyone, but the program will pay off big for corporate users who need to automate complex tasks.
