A real case of a split personality, Ani.cur.ico Editor consists of two programs for creating cursors and icons. The first is a static icon/cursor editor with an adequate toolset, including a channel mixer. It also can extract icons from EXE and DLL files–a minor task it executes well. On the other hand, importing images requires you to convert the image to an ICO file and open it for editing, a process that requires several clicks. However, the real offender is the second program, a practically unusable animated-cursor editor that can only import CUR and ICO files, which you first have to create (or convert, as mentioned above) in the static icon/cursor editor. You might get by with Ani.cur.ico Editor if you just need to extract icons from EXE files, but we wouldn’t suggest it to serious designers.
