Aside from having one important feature disabled in the demo, this PC-monitoring tool is secure and mostly comprehensive. PC Tattletale Parental Control Monitoring Software’s well-designed, intuitive interface is password-protected and, when run in stealth mode, must be called out of hiding with a hot-key combination. However, we should note the trial version isn’t entirely clandestine, as it will alert users they are being watched. In terms of features, the program shines, capturing screenshots at user-specified intervals and logging keystrokes, e-mails, chat activity, programs launched, and Web sites visited. You’ll also find a scheduler and the ability to block Web sites by keyword or URL. However, we should note support for Firefox is somewhat limited; though you can prevent Firefox users from visiting certain sites, you can’t use the keyword feature or view actual typed URLs (you’ll need to check the screenshot logs for that). Happily, we never managed to disable the program via the Task Manager or uninstall it without the password, so we think it’s well-protected against even older or savvier kids. Parents looking to keep an eye on how their kids use the computers won’t be disappointed with what PC Tattletale Parental Control Monitoring Software brings to the table.
