According to most experts, third-party memory managers are a waste of time. True or not, Memory Optimizer didn’t boost performance in our tests. Its no-nonsense interface graphically displays which processes are running and how much RAM they’re using. It also lets users adjust a variety of settings, such as the target memory level and the time interval between optimizations. You can use the system-tray icon to “optimize” memory manually. However, unlike in other, similar programs, the icon doesn’t clearly display the amount of free RAM available. We didn’t experience any stability problems, but don’t be surprised if Memory Optimizer actually slows down your computer a bit, since it doesn’t take the processor load into account. Our advice? Memory’s cheap. If you’re running low, just buy more.
