This feature-rich tool executes numerous tasks with simple hot-key combos. Hotkeycontrol’s well-organized interface lets you quickly define 50 hot keys to run EXE programs, files, and folders. It also lets you assign hot keys to display images, run plug-ins, and initiate macros for repetitive keyboard and mouse actions. In addition, you can assign system tasks such as shutting down, minimizing and maximizing windows, setting volume controls, and controlling media player functions. The settings can be made available to all a machine’s user accounts along with a convenient, though unfortunately unprintable, list of hot-key assignments. If you don’t already have it, Hotkeycontrol requires you to download Microsoft .NET Framework version 2.0. But aside from that minor caveat, it’s an excellent choice for developing and executing hot-key commands.
