This program can guard your private folders from nosy onlookers, although it requires repetitive setups to operate. Rather than encrypting or hiding your sensitive folders from view, Password Protect locks down each one behind a user-defined password. We especially like that you can assign different passwords to each folder so you can offer access to authorized persons for specific folders when necessary while continuing to protect others. The trial allows you to secure three folders, and they mustn’t exceed 50MB. On the upside, it extends support for locking USB and external drives. Our biggest gripe with this protection tool is that once you unlock and enter your folder, you have to go through the process of resetting the password protection upon exiting. Though some users will prefer a protective software that can maintain its guard automatically, Password Protect does provide a sufficient level of security while it’s in place.
